Pianist
Biography
Lara Sauermann is a young French-German pianist who combines passion and poetry.
Through the piano she seeks to captivate her audience. Communication and sharing are very important to her. Her piano work and her constant introspection push her further into a search for emotions and a palette of sound colors.
Lara starts playing the piano at the age of 6 with Marie Laurence Cren in France. In 2012, she joins Hervé Billaut's class at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional in Lyon (CRR). After obtaining her Diploma of Musical Studies with honors, she continues her studies for two years in the same class. At the same time, she follows the accompaniment class with Laetitia Bougnol. Sharing the joy of making music with other musicians has always been very important to her.
In 2017, she decides to pursue her studies in Montreal, Canada, in order to develop both musically and personally. She obtains her Bachelor's degree in Jean Saulnier's class at the University of Montreal and then pursues her Master's degree in Jimmy Brière's class. She is the recipient of several scholarships awarded for the quality and excellence of her academic results.
Lara is a pianist full of energy and always eager to learn. She participates in numerous master- classes in France and abroad and is fortunate enough to receive the advice of many great artists and pedagogues: Laurent Cabasso, Denis Pascal, Marie Josèphe Jude, Rena Shereshevskaya Pascal Devoyon or Konstanze Eickhorst, Olga Monakh, Nicolas Bringuier.
Lara also enjoys collaborating with singers and other musicians. She obtains a scholarship to participate in a summer academy in Orford, Canada, where she accompanies several singers and takes lessons with great accompanists and voice teachers (Rosemarie Landry, Francis Perron, Benjamin Butterfield).
Lara produces herself regulary in France, Germany and Spain either in recitals or chamber music.
In addition to her work as a musician, she has been giving piano lessons for over 10 years. Sharing and passing on are very important to her.
In her leisure time Lara practices aikido and Kyudo, a martial art.
